dd3.jpg Interactive urban music drama series, Dubplate Drama, has been re-commissioned by Channel 4 and MTV UK Base to produce two one-hour exhilarating episodes which will conclude the award-winning trilogy later this month. The series follows the descent of a group of young people at the peak of their musical career. With a stunning performance by number one pop princess, N-Dubz’s Tulisa, the plot promises to take the viewer on a fast paced journey ending in knife crime, debt and despair. The world’s first viewer led interactive television show, where viewers’ votes influence the storyline, will premiere on Monday 22nd June at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, an event showcasing the world’s most innovative and exciting cinema. That same week it will be screened on Channel 4 and MTV Base. MySpace will continue as the exclusive online partner to the series, offering viewers the opportunity to vote using a real-time voting mechanic: www.myspace.com/dubplatedrama as well as broadcasting the series and providing additional content. Pushing interactive and multi-platform boundaries, the series will also be screened in October at a selected number of City Screen cinemas across the UK by B3 Media in collaboration with City Screen Picturehouse Cinemas.Episode one will be screened and end with a multiple choice dilemma. Dubplate fans will then choose their preferred outcome to determine how the storyline develops in the next and final episode. This episode will be screened, within minutes, once the vote has counted.

Dubplate Drama which premiered in 2005 to worldwide critical acclaim continues its partnership with the NSPCC to promote ChildLine, its free 24-hour helpline for children and young people. ChildLine’s partnership with the series includes all TV, cinema and online bumpers and all below the line promotions. It will also have dominant visibility across all other channels including MySpace, helping ChildLine to connect meaningfully with an otherwise hard to reach audience. Dubplate Drama will continue to encourage young people to debate and vote on issues they can find hard to face and at the same time raise awareness of ChildLine’s number 0800 1111 via all online and offline communications to be deployed in relevant environments.
