Snoop Scooting From Death Row

leaving death row

(LOS ANGELES) - Snoop Doggy Dogg is leaving Death Row Records, the label that made him famous, because he fears being gunned down like fellow rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.|

"I definitely feel my life is in danger if I stay in Death Row Records. That's part of the reason why I'm leaving," the rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, said in Thursday's Long Beach Press-Telegram.

"Suge Knight is in jail, the president; Dr. Dre left and Tupac is dead. It's telling me that I'm either going to be dead or in jail or I'm going to be nothing." Broadus, 26, said he was "sort of paranoid" after Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. were killed because "I didn't know if there was somebody trying to take out all the top rappers."

The rapper said he is working on a new album called Corleone's Revenge on Dogg House Records. It won't be released until he is released from Death Row, the rapper said. A spokesman for Death Row Records said that Snoop is still under contract.
