(NEW YORK) - The Beastie Boys and Salt-N-Pepa will be honored for their political work at a fundraisier for Rock The Vote.|
Members of the two hip-hop acts will receive the fifth annual Patrick Lippert Award, presented to musicians who make efforts to educate young people about political issues. Fiona Apple will perform at the benefit, to be held Feb. 24 in New York. Founded in 1990 by members of the recordingindustry, Rock The Vote uses music to encourage young people to participate in the political process.
