Green Day Releasing Singles Box Set

singles box set

While Green Day is busy touring Europe, their record label, Reprise is hard at work on a forthcoming singles box set.|

Set for release on Feb. 25, Green Day -- The Singles Collection will feature seven individual singles and their respective B-sides from two previously released Green Day albums, Dookie and Insomniac. Each single will come as a separate CD and will highlight some rare live tracks and other outtakes. Also, the package will ship in a special collector's box and will be accompanied by a cellular phone strap branded with Green Day's logo. (Apparently custom cell-phone straps are a big deal in Japan.)

Although The Singles Collection will not be officially released in the United States, it can be purchased as an import in select stores around the country. The album will most likely retail for around US$50, according to a band spokesman at Reprise. However, eager fans can buy the box set now from CDnow for US$76.99. (Ari Bendersky)
