Shirley Manson on “Terminator”: The Reviews Are In!

And the results are in: Garbage singer Shirley Manson’s debut in last last night’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Fox drew a mixed, slightly lukewarm reception. Which perhaps is what happens when you play the part of a urinal that morphs into a shape-shifting bathroom killer.

• Music Radar speculates that George Michael was up for the same role.

• Idolator’s reader comments are peppered with “Golden Showers” and “I’m Only Happy When It Rains” references.

• Wired drools over Manson’s performance. She responds, “It’s harder to be a robot than one would think.”

• Billboard lets Manson speak out about her future in rock: “Being in a band, it’s like being in a minor Mafia. You never really get out alive.”

• Time Out Chicago gets academic: “If there isn’t already some gender studies student writing a post on a blog somewhere about the scene where Shirley Manson’s character morphs from an about-to-be-peed-on urinal into a killing machine then I am disappointed in this country’s post-graduate university programs. Seriously, what’s with this show and women?”
