(TOKYO) - Tokyo-based festival organizer Smash is hoping this year's Fuji Rock Festival -- the territory's biggest concert -- will be more successful than 1997's inaugural event, which was canceled midway through the first day after a typhoon turned the concert site near Mt. Fuji into a steaming sea of mud. |
Fuji Rock Festival '98 will instead be held at Tokyo Bayside Square near the capital's waterfront, Aug. 1-2. Acts set to appear include Bjork, Beck, Elvis Costello, Sonic Youth, Garbage, Prodigy, Primal Scream, Ian Brown, Hotei, Ben Folds Five, Nick Cave, Shonen Knife, Everclear and Asian Dub Foundation.
