Random Notes on Shirley Manson, Wyclef and Ricky Martin

Fashion industry darling Shirley Manson has agreed to let an upstart makeup company create a lipstick for her -- and she's agreed to promote it free of charge.| Los Angeles-based StarCrazy approached the singer after Garbage's Anaheim performance and showed her their wares. Shirley reportedly exclaimed, "You have to make me one!" Not surprisingly, reps from the makeup company jumped at the chance. Manson's strawberry pink gloss will be released to coincide with the release of Garbage's next single, "You Look So Fine." According to StarCrazy, Manson will donate the profits from the gloss to a cancer charity. The lip gloss, sold in metallic containers that look like CDs, also comes in cotton candy pink named after Star 69 and an acid green dubbed Oleander . . .

Two thirds of the Fugees will be playing together again, as the reggae-fest Sunsplash returns to the U.K. for the first time in more than ten years, according to the NME. Wyclef Jean and the Refugee All Stars have been added to the roster of bands performing, and Pras will be joining them as a special guest. The concert, which will also feature Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs, is set for August 1 in London's Victoria Park . . .

Do you really want it? Do you really want it? If so, it's coming at you: American tour dates for Ricky Martin were announced yesterday. So what do you do if you're Jim Carrey and you're stuck in the wilds of Burlington, Vt., filming the latest Farrelly Brothers' opus, Me, Myself, and Irene? You call up local Mike Gordon from Phish and ask him if he wants to hang out. The duo have been hitting the high and low spots in Phish's home town, including a pre-tour bash at guitarist Trey Anastasio's house on Thursday, June 24. The band played two sets to get ready for their summer swing, and actually allowed Carrey to sing the vocals on a version of Pink Floyd's "Hey You," as well as a elongated version of the Beatles'' "Come Together." (Carrey, you might remember, last sang "I Am the Walrus" on George Martin's In My Life album). Phish kicks off its tour today (June 30) in Bonner Springs, Ks. at the Sandstone Amphitheater . . .
