Shirley Manson puckers up, Wyclef and Pras reunite for Sunsplash, Ricky Martin hits the road and more

Fashion industry darling Shirley Manson has agreed to let an upstart makeup company create a lipstick for her -- and she's agreed to promote it free of charge. Los Angeles-based StarCrazy approached the singer after Garbage's Anaheim performance and showed her their wares. Shirley reportedly exclaimed, "You have to make me one!" Not surprisingly, reps from the makeup company jumped at the chance. Manson's strawberry pink gloss will be released to coincide with the release of Garbage's next single, "You Look So Fine." According to StarCrazy, Manson will donate the profits from the gloss to a cancer charity. The lip gloss, sold in metallic containers that look like CDs, also comes in cotton candy pink named after Star 69 and an acid green dubbed Oleander . . .

Wyclef Jean and the Refugee All Stars have been added to the roster of bands performing, and Pras will be joining them as a special guest. The concert, which will also feature Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs, is set for August 1 in London's Victoria Park . . .

So what do you do if you're Jim Carrey and you're stuck in the wilds of Burlington, Vt., filming the latest Farrelly Brothers' opus, Me, Myself, and Irene? You call up local Mike Gordon from Phish and ask him if he wants to hang out. The duo have been hitting the high and low spots in Phish's home town, including a pre-tour bash at guitarist Trey Anastasio's house on Thursday, June 24. The band played two sets to get ready for their summer swing, and actually allowed Carrey to sing the vocals on a version of Pink Floyd's "Hey You," as well as a elongated version of the Beatles'' "Come Together." (Carrey, you might remember, last sang "I Am the Walrus" on George Martin's In My Life album). Phish kicks off its tour today (June 30) in Bonner Springs, Ks. at the Sandstone Amphitheater . . .

Michael Jackson's star-studded benefit concert at Munich's Olympic Stadium on Sunday (June 27) was a hit in spite of a mishap that sent the Prince of Pop to the hospital. Although published reports cited burns from stage fireworks or fatigue as the cause of Jackson's medical visit, a representative from Jackson's MJJ Productions says that the singer only suffered minor bruises when a bridge he was standing on collapsed onto the stage. According to the source, Jackson finished his performance, which included a medley of his hits, before heading to the hospital where he was treated and quickly released. Last minute cancellations by Luciano Pavarotti and Elizabeth Taylor (both cited health reasons) didn't prevent 62,000 fans from attending the eight-hour show, which was beamed to twenty countries. The concert raised a reported $1.6 million for UNESCO, the Red Cross, the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and other worldwide children's charities . . .

Following in the footsteps of Aerosmith, the Foo Fighters have dropped off the Woodstock '99 lineup. According to the band's publicity firm, the group had to bow out in order to finish their new album. Grohl and Co. are still shopping for a new label, but hope to have the record out by late fall . . .

The National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the creation of the Latin Grammy Awards on Friday (June 25). Three years after the creation of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, NARAS CEO Michael Greene announced the new Grammy ceremony at an industry conference in Miami. The Latin Grammys will be comprised of thirty-nine awards (best song, record, album, etc.) falling into twelve categories including pop, rock, traditional, jazz and Brazilian, among others. "The Latin Grammy's will carry the full weight, respect, credibility and commitment that the Grammy name entails," Greene said in a statement.
