Chase & Status innit tho!
Who doesn’t love a good movie? Well, we wouldn’t say that we’re big fans of the silver screen but there’s one film in particular that has caught our attention called Harry Brown. Michael Caine is the lead actor but it also features Ben Drew better known as Plan B. And no, it’s not the plot that’s gripping us but the theme music End Credits by Chase & Status featuring Plan B. Chase & Status first came to prominence with their remix of Capleton’s Who Dem entitled Duppy Man in 2005 and since then they’ve scored three No.1s on the UK dance charts with the double A-side Hurt You/Sell Me Your Soul, Take Me Away/Judgement and Pieces featuring Plan B in 2008. That same year they released their debut album More Than Alot, which has sold 60,00 copies and has led to remixing work for the likes of Jay-Z, The Prodigy and Snoop Dogg during the last 12 months. They’ve also been working on tracks for Rihanna’s forthcoming album out later this year…
Their new single End Credits is released on November 2nd. It features their trademark drum n bass sound coupled with some rather tasty acoustic guitar in the intro and outro as well as lush keys. The beat is incessant and the vocals perfectly complement the musical arrangement. You can also catch the boys live as they’ve just kicked off their first UK headlining tour. Astralwerks have also released four early ground-breaking albums by Brian Eno called Original Masters and last week eight Kraftwerk albums were given the digital treatment resulting in The Catalogue or Der Katalog. All eight can be bought individually right now as we speak or as a box set from November 16th - the albums are: Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Electric Café (1986), The Mix (1991) and Tour de France Soundtracks (2003).
