The self-proclaimed King Of Pop Michael Jackson was pronounced dead yesterday after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest. The 50-year-old singer suffered the heart attack at around 12.30pm California time and was pronounced dead three hours later. This is shock news from the US, where Jackson had been preparing for his upcoming shows at London’s O2 Arena. The star leaves behind three young children - Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince ‘Blanket’ Michael Jackson II - his large family and a worldwide fanbase who will all be in mourning…

Jackson’s family members were called to the hospital as the star was rushed there following his cardiac arrest. LA paramedics have reported that Jackson was not breathing when they arrived at the scene and their attempts to resuscitate him failed. Jackson’s sister LaToya was seen running into the hospital sobbing as Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael Jackson had a stellar pop career from a young age, first with his family in The Jackson 5 and then as a solo artist, the peak being with his 1982 Thriller album. The self-proclaimed King Of Pop’s career has spanned four decades and when he announced back in March that he was to perform over the summer in a string of London dates, his legions of fans across the world rejoiced. Throughout all the controversy in his troubled life, the music was always there to fall back on. However, it now seems that the strain might have been too much.
