Everybody’s favourite 90s ravers The Prodigy are back, back, back with a new album and tour set to explode into your eyes & ears in March next year. The new album, Invaders Must Die, is the first for nearly five years from Braintree’s finest and is described by somebody or other who absolutely knows as “40 minutes of having your head battered by future nostalgia, serotonin levels twisted by feel-good horrorcore and your synapses snapped by whiplash attitude”. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. You’re going to have to wait until next year to purchase (or somehow download) a copy - not that we would suggest such a thing, so stop it. You’re so illegal sometimes. But if you can’t wait that long, the title track is available to download from TONIGHT…
RealMusic Blog remembers pogoing in time at Keith Flint’s manic flame-haired insistence to Firestarter and duly smacked our bitch up whenever The Prodigy instructed us to - we’re impressionable like that. Now they’re back following up 2004’s Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned with an album that’s apparently full of attitude, old-school rave anthems and brimming with hardcore hooks on all 11 tracks. We look forward to pressing play on the album in March but in the meantime, The Prodigy are giving away a free download of the title track Invaders Must Die from November 26, 7.30pm, for one week only - so don’t delay! The video will also be streamed on their site from November 28.
