Happy Halloween! If you’re American, you’re probably reading this while simultaneously dunking for apples and trick-or-treating with ET while dressed as a pumpkin. If you’re in Europe however, you may have bought a rubbish mask for less money than an egg sandwich but then left it on the bus on the way home. Nevermind. Whichever, there’s no better way to celebrate Halloween than by watching Michael Jackson’s Thriller video which is unsurpassed in execution, dance routines, budget and length to this day. RealMusic Blog takes a look at the 13-minute fright-fest, marvels at its Lego counterpart and points you towards our very own hand-cradfted Halloween Radio

First things first: have you watched the full 13-minute Thriller? We’re betting not. If that’s the case, you’re missing Jacko in Teen Wolf mode, doing that jiggle in tight red trousers as only he and a horde of zombies can and looking startlingly better as a zombie than as he does today. Time is a cruel mistress and no mistake. What’s more, watching it back you realise just how much Dirty Dancing ripped Thriller off. The dance moves, the wooden acting, the ripped clothing - it was Thriller all along! Watch the full video RIGHT HERE…

However, if you haven’t got 13 minutes to spare - and frankly, that’s how you can tell it was made it spare-time-crazy-mullet-loving-1983 - then here’s the much reduced 2008 version…

And if that’s not enough, how about the full Thriller video painstakingly re-imagined with Lego? We kid you not. Every detail is lovingly re-enacted and watching the little Lego figures dancing in formation (skip to around 8:30) is what the internet was invented for. Watch it and weep…
