Will they, won’t they? That’s the question on all of our lips this morning as news hot off the rusty Bank Holiday presses suggest that an event first reported by wide-eyed fans more than a year ago is about to come true: yes, Britney Spears and former beau Justin Timberlake may finally be coming together in a studio sometime soon and singing on the same song! Or perhaps not, depending on which rumour you believe. Here at RealMusic Blog Towers though, we firmly believe in the power of pop and so have chosen to breathe life into the ‘it’s going to happen!’ rumour. It seems that our cherished dreams and those of the entirety of Planet Pop could be about to come true. Plus, it’s a fantastic excuse to post the denim-tastic image of the pair seen above…
The breathless news was sent down from on high recently and follows last year’s (again rumoured) abortive attempt to do a little tra-la-laaaaing together on Britney’s scorching Blackout album. Apparently that time, Justin showed up with his eager puppy face and springy hair, but unfortunately Britney was too busy seeking out wigs/crashing cars/avoiding papparazzi to attend. These days though, our Brit is a more hirsute and altogether happy pop bunny, so we’ve got everything crossed that it will happen. And we are of course steadfastly ignoring the stated denials surfacing from JT’s camp. We think he doth protest too much…
In other news, Queen Madonna - one-time rather unconvincing snogger of Ms Spears - has begun thrusting herself around stages on her Sticky And Sweet tour. The muscular one dons top hats, pole-dances and even strums a gee-tar just to prove her real music credentials. The tour continues apace across Europe for the next month, touching down in London Town for one night only on September 11th. Tickets are still available here…
