SugaRush Beat Company Interview

They haven’t even released their first single and already the SugaRush Beat Company are being described as a soul supergroup. Rahsaan Patterson, Jarrad ‘Jaz’ Rogers and Ida Corr are the trio at the midst of the SugaRush whirl, with Patterson and Corr successful solo artists from the US and Denmark joining forces with Aussie writer & producer Rogers with some style. They played their first headline gig in London at the end of April, and an appearance on Jools Holland shone a light on their amazing combined talent. RealMusic Blog caught up with them in a central London studio recently to chat about their hasty rise to fame and how they’re enjoying the suga-coated ride so far…

KT Tunstall Interview

There are many reasons RealMusic Blog loves KT Tunstall: her music, her style and her ballsy attitude are just three out of about 694 reasons. Another is because she christened herself KT instead of Kate because: “Kate just makes me think of a buxom lass baking bread for her man working in the fields. It’s just not really how I pictured being a rock star.” You’ve got to love a mind that works like that, haven’t you?

Our sister-in-law Rhapsody Blog caught up with KT recently to talk life, turning 30 and her music. She says: “On Eye to the Telescope’ I wanted to introduce myself - I feel like I’m still finding my feet. I turned 30 [in 2005]. At 20, you think you know everything. For the first 20 years I was learning how to play guitar and what I liked, then for the last 10 years I’ve been learning how to be me…”

Eurovision Song Contest 2008

The popular music charts are all well and good, but there’s nothing RealMusic Blog looks forward to in the calendar more than the Eurovision Song Contest. Filled with everything that Europe has to offer and then some, this annual jamboree never fails to raise a smile at our house, as we pass round the cheese & pineapple on sticks, gulp down the Babycham and wait patiently while Margit from Estonia gallops to glory on the back of a thumping 70s-esque anthem, wearing what looks like a baby blue catsuit with feathers. If that actually happens this year, this may be RealMusic Blog’s last entry before running off to become a medium…
