Flo Rida

US rapper Flo Rida is the epitome of cool, which is probably why he changed his name from Tramar Dillard. As a teenager he toured with 2 Live Crew, but a few knockbacks meant he left the industry, only to be lured back in later life. He signed with Poe Boy Entertainment in 2007, worked with Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, but it wasn't until his 2008 breakthrough hit Low featuring T-Pain that Flo Rida became a household name. Low went top five in the UK, but in the US it stayed at No.1 for a massive ten weeks, meaning that the fella from Florida had finally arrived.
He's since released tracks featuring Timbaland and will.i.am - not bad for a first-timer - and second album R.O.O.T.S. got a massive reception to boot.
