Mia is a five-piece Berlin band fronted by a female who calls herself ‘Mieze’ (‘Kitty’). Nestled somewhere along the music spectrum between electro-punk and pop, they formed in 1997 before releasing their first single “Sugar My Skin” in 1999 and their debut album “Hieb und Stichfest” by 2002. They found some wide appeal in the German charts and unsuccessfully attempted to secure a place in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the single “Hungriges Herz”. 2004 saw the release of the album “Stille Post”, which featured the catchy single “Was ist es”.
