Country music artist Roy Rogers was born on November 5, 1911 in Cincinnati. In 1933, with Tim Spencer, Bob Nolan and Hugh Farr, he co-founded the Western group the Sons of the Pioneers. Four years later he began his movie career and went on to become a famous movie and TV cowboy. He continued as a solo artist and although his success was never as great as with the Pioneers, "Candy Kisses" was a hit in 1972. Rogers has been elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame twice. In 1990, “The Roy Rogers Tribute” was released In 1998 Rogers died in Victorville CA.
