Zapp

The funk group Zapp was formed in 1978 in Hamilton, Ohio, by brothers Roger (singer), Lester (drums), Tony (bass), Larry (percussion) and Terry Troutman. Produced by Bootsy Collins, the group released their debut album "Zapp" in 1980, soon becoming the elite of funk bands. With a string of LP's in the 80's, Zapp left a recording legacy which is popular to this day. "All the Greatest Hits" was released in 1993 and reached platinum. In 1999 the brothers suffered a great tragedy when Roger was shot to death by Larry, who then killed himself.
