On Mescalero, Billy Gibbons plays his guitar to death, and his voice is as greasy as ever (try "Tramp"). As a band, the Texan boogie gods remain the filthiest trio to ever shuffle along just behind the beat. ZZ Top are so good they still get away with playing disco, for crying out loud.
