Wham
Short but more than memorable was the career of British pop duo Wham! The leading part in Wham! was taken by singer George Michael (born Georgios Panayiotou in London), who also wrote most of the chart topping singles. Performing together with sidekick Andrew Ridgeley, Michael scored his first huge hit with "Wake Me up before You Go-Go" in 1984 from the album "Make It Big". The two parted ways in 1986 as a protest to their manager Simon Napier-Bell selling the share of his management to a South African entertainment company.
