Weather Report

Formed in 1970, the jazz-rock supergroup Weather Report kept going for fifteen years and is most famous for its stylish and laid back sound as well as concerning about third world music. Besides being a remarkable band on their own, the outfit proved to be a starting point for future soloists. Weather Report was an incubator for Victor Bailey and Wayne Shorter, the latter and founder Joe Zawinul had already played with Miles Davis before setting up WR. Their most memorable album is 77's "Heavy Weather" with its hit song "Birdland".
