The New Romantic project Visage was formed in 1978 by vocalist Steve Strange and ex-Rich Kids drummer Rusty Egan at London’s nightclub Billy's. They recruited Midge Ure (who would later join Ultravox), Ultravox's Billy Currie, and three members of Magazine — bassist Barry Adamson, guitarist John McGeoch, and keyboard player Dave Formula. Visage are best remembered for their mega hit single "Fade to Grey" that went to number one in 21 countries and was featured on their self-titled debut album (1980). After a number of follow-up hits the band disbanded around 1984.
