Vassar Clements

Vassar Clements was one of the most innovative fiddle players on the bluegrass circuit. In the early 1950s he cut his teeth playing with picking legend Bill Monroe. Clements soon realized that he wanted to try his hand at other types of music. He began throwing in different ingredients into his musical melting pot. By fusing jazz with country music, Clements honed his skills in forty years time to become one of the most sought-after session musicians. One can hear his finesse on albums by Hank Williams, Vince Gill, Bonnie Raitt, Paul McCartney, and (even) The Monkees.
