The art rock/new wave band Ultravox! was formed in London, England, in 1976. After three unsuccessful albums the original founder, singer and songwriter John Foxx left the group in 1978 and went solo. The other members, consisting of Billy Currie (keyboards), Chris Cross (bass) and Warren Cann (drums), re-emerged two years later with new singer Midge Ure and a change in style. With hit albums like "Vienna" (1980) and "Rage In Eden" (1981) Ultravox Mk. II soon became one of the main exponents of the New Romantic movement, but the band finally split up in 1986.
