The complexity of Thought Industry's music -- the obtuse lyrics, song titles peppered with inside jokes, the multiplicity of styles they pack into a single song -- means they often run the risk of losing focus. Staying focused is left up to the listener, whose response to the music must be more cerebral than visceral (an unusual concept, perhaps, considering this is Metal we're dealing with). The general trajectory of the band has moved from densely overdubbed matrixes of Industrial Metal mayhem to simpler, mellow-toned aggregates of Progressive Rock.
