The British mod/punk band The Vapors was founded by vocalist/guitarist Dave Fenton sometime in the seventies. The band's second single, "Turning Japanese", became a world wide hit in 1980. The third single, "News at Ten", also did quite well and added to the success of the band's first full-length offering. In 1981, the Vapor's second album, "Magnet", hit the shelves and immediately received rave reviews. But after a remix of the album's hit "Jimmy Jones" was issued as a single in late 1981, the band decided to call it a day for some reason.
