The New Pornographers formed in 1997 as Carl (A.C.) Newman's big idea. Neko Case jumped in to provide the big brassy vocals.
Leader Newman reports: "Jimmy Swaggart said music was the new pornography. The New Pornographers are merely musicians."
This multi-pronged indie pop supergroup has busy members who flit back and forth from their home base in Vancouver.
