The Levellers
Since 1988 the five band members of The Levellers are in the indie circuit. They met in Brighton where they developed their hippiesque folk punk played on modern and traditional folk instruments. Within two years they headlined the Glastonbury Festival and released their first album in 1990. The acclaimed second album "Levelling the Land" entered the UK charts and the first single "One Way" hit # 1 on the indie charts. Since then they made a futile attempt to conquer the US market and their subsequent albums never reached the same popularity.
