Previously known as T.I.P., T.I. is an Atlanta emcee with a knack for catchy hooks and no shortage of rhymes about the grim realities of daily life in the drug game. His first album, 2001's I'm Serious, failed to make much noise, so he was released from Arista. However, that setback pushed him to try harder: T.I. started his own label, Grand Hustle, which ended up moving 20,000 units of the underground CD In Da Streets, Parts 1 and 2. Impressed by his regional fanbase, Atlantic picked him up and put out his second album, Trap Muzik, in 2003. Bolstered by irresistibly catchy production and an assortment of Dirty South collabos, the record lit up the charts and scored a big hit with the riot-inciting, rim-centric single "24's"
