Sixteen Deluxe
Not since My Bloody Valentine or possibly Thin White Rope's Guy Kyser has their been such maniacal love of sonic excess. From the jet-fired opening of Sixteen Deluxe's Noise Pop parade, one only half realizes the blissfully sonic journey that waits. It's just moments until you're thrust to the back of your seat and fired down a feedback-laden track at bullet train velocity. Guitars swoop down, feeding back with a maniacal cackle as pounding rhythms struggle to hold the trajectory. In contrast, singer Carrie Clark's almost taunting voice rides smoothly over the top. If your dream is My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus and Mary Chain playing on stage at the same time look no further.
