Shyne Sentencing Delayed

June 1st date set for rapper

Jamal "Shyne" Barrow's sentencing on charges of first-degree assault, initially scheduled for today, has been pushed back to June 1st.

The Bad Boy Entertainment rapper has been incarcerated since March 16th, when a jury found him guilty of first-degree assault with depraved indifference and second-degree assault in the December 27, 1999 shooting of Natania Reuben and Julius Jones, respectively.

Though Barrow was found not guilty on charges of attempted murder, his convictions could carry a maximum sentence of twenty-five years in prison. Barrow's co-defendants in the trial, mentor Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, and Combs' bodyguard Anthony Jones were both acquitted of charges of weapons possession and bribery.
