Born on March 14, 1965, British-Indian singer Sheila Chandra began fusing non-Western elements in her pop music from an early age. This resulted in a unique single “Ever So Lonely”, which became a surprise hit in the early 80’s. She continued recording albums with the intention of focusing on a more personal sound, drawing from her background. Chandra often collaborated with her husband, producer Steve Coe, who contributed to the original material on her critically acclaimed LP “Monsoon”. In the 90’s she began recording on Peter Gabriel’s Real World label.
