Sawt el Atlas

Sawt El Atlas are an explosive fusion of French-Arabic musicians based in Paris. The ten piece group combines traditional middle-eastern music with funk, reggae and Latin influences. Singers Kamel and Mounir contribute soaring vocals to this catchy multicultural party music. The band was founded by two pairs of three brothers. From their unique and direct experience as first-generation immigrants, perceived as French in Morrocco and Morroccan in France, the group seizes on the transformative possibility of exchange between cultures. Their albums include "Generaliser" (1996) and "Donia" (2001).
