Robert Palmer
Robert Palmer was born in England in 1949. The performer's early work was an intelligent blend of rock and reggae sounds with jazzy harmonies. Though the music was of a high quality it sold very poorly. What turned him into a star by the mid 80's was his handsome, slick image as a lady's man in a string of videos in the dawning days of MTV. His 1985 album "Riptide" had top chart hits with "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irresistible". In 2003 Palmer recorded "Drive" just before suffering a heart attack, resulting in his death at the age of 54.
