The Pussycat Dolls are an American female dance-pop singing group that started out life as a burlesque dance troupe created by the choreographer Robin Antin - they were originally based in Los Angeles. Their emergence as a bonafide music act began with them releasing the hit single Don't Cha in 2005 and their subsequent platinum selling debut album PCD spawned further hit singles including Stickwitu and Beep (featuring will.i.am) - all hitting No.1 in the UK.

They released their second album Doll Domination in 2008 with Timbaland taking on the role of executive producer, and have so far released three singles - the first one When I Grow Up was another platinum seller, Whatcha Think About That featured Missy Elliott and I Hate This Part.

The current line-up of the band is Ashley Roberts, Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt. Carmit Bachar left the group in March 2008. Scherzinger has been working on a solo album, and to date has released four solo singles with limited success - she currently dates the Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.
