In the mid-'70s Phoebe Snow hit the charts running with her original mix of introspective, Joni Mitchell-style folk-jazz with a gorgeous set of soulful pipes. Snow was a good songwriter, but she also had a knack for covering good tunes. Family health problems forced her to put her career on the back burner for a while, but her latest album finds her in great form.
