Pete Tong

One of the original superstar DJs, Pete Tong spins electronica and house on Radio One and in nightclubs around the globe. Originally sprouted in Kent, Tong started out as a music journalist, before moving on to A&R and then to radio, jumping from Invicta to Capital to Radio One. He's also well known for his stint at Ibiza's Pacha nightclub and currently resides at Eden on the White Isle.
As well as DJing, Tong is also an acclaimed music producer and has put together soundtracks for films such as 24 Hour Party People, Human Traffic and The Beach. Says Tong: "People love music, make no mistake about that, whether and how they buy it right now is one thing, but people still want to party. It's our job to come up with new parties, new venues, new themes to keep the scene fresh and exciting."
Fellow Radio One DJs Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley coined the phrase "It's all gone a bit Pete Tong" - cockney rhyming slang for ‘wrong' - which has now entered the Oxford English Dictionary. Pete was also the inspiration behind the film "It's All Gone A Bit Pete Tong."
