Van Dyk All Mixed Up

"The Columbia EP" will feature remixes of "Out There And Back" tracks

Paul Van Dyk will release an EP of remixes of tracks from last year's Out There And Back album. Among those reworking the German DJ/recording artist are Starecase, who remixed "Vega," Christopher Just ("We Are Alive"), and Robert Armani "Tell Me Why." Van Dyk handled the remixing chores on "Columbia" himself.

Due out July 17th on Mute, The Columbia EP will also include a new tune called "Movement." Van Dyk recorded "Movement" and four other new tracks earlier this year during a break from his worldwide DJing duties, and he expects to release a new full-length album early next year.

He is currently lining up a series of U.S. and U.K. dates, saying that he actually took an extended break because of the fanatical response he was getting abroad, particularly in the U.K.

"I don't really like big hype," he says. "I don't like it when I can play whatever I want to play and people scream anyway even if its shit. So we said, 'OK step back a bit and allow people to be a bit more objective about what's going on.'"
