Pat Boone

Born June 1, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida, Pat Boone made many cover versions of songs first credited to black performers palatable to white audiences. Boone released his Dot Records debut "Two Hearts, Two Kisses" in 1955. Until 1963, he made 54 chart appearances, including "Don't Forbid Me", "Love Letters in the Sand" and "April Love", all issued in '57. PB spent the next decade hosting his own TV series, starring in 15 films and writing self-help books for adolescents. In the 70's and 80's he dedicated himself to country and gospel material.
