Oscar Brand
A folksinger and all around champion of folk music, Brand has recorded more than ninety albums in a sixty year career. His records run the gamut from political folk and protest material to collections of bawdy songs, sea chanteys and children's songs. He has played with Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly, and he's been a longtime radio and television host who's consistently given voice to up-and-coming performers in the folk world. For the most part, Brand's sound is a stripped down affair featuring acoustic guitar and a few other stringed instruments. Although he doesn't have the world's greatest voice, his obvious love for the genre and his abundant energy are infectious and have made his performances an attraction.
