Neneh Cherry
Born on March 10, 1964 in Stockholm, Sweden, hip-hop vocalist Neneh Cherry was raised by her mother and her stepfather, jazz trumpeter Don Cherry, in both Stockholm and New York City. In 1989, Cherry became romantically as well as professionally involved with composer and musician Cameron McVey, who wrote most of the material on Cherry's debut LP "Raw Like Sushi". The album's smart hip-hop energy was captured in the song "Buffalo Stance" which became an international hit. Another success for her was Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin".
