'NSYNC

'NSYNC isn't really a name that rolls off the tongue; the boys dreamt it up by taking the last letter from each of their first names. Clever, no?Strange moniker aside, the guys had the boyband thing down to a tee, gracing the charts across the U.S. and Europe through the late 1990s with their brand of pop/funk/R&B ear candy.
Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake got together in Orlando in 1996, putting together a string of songs and dance moves to form their self-titled first album. Proving that you can be successful with dodgy dress sense and an absence of killer looks, the group broke Europe first and then headed back to the States. Their chart success was global, with hits like "I Want You Back" and "Tearin' Up My Heart", along with the Grammy-nominated "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me". What's more, their second album No Strings Attached sold an incredible one million copies on its first day of release.
The boys duly toured like demons, jigged about and were pursued by teenage girls wherever they went. Their 2001 album Celebrity was a dancefloor-filler and flexed the writing muscles of Timberlake et al.
'NSYNC have been pursuing solo projects for the last couple of years, with Timberlake having the most success musically, and Fatone and Bass trying their hands at acting.
