Marc Bolan
Glam rock star Marc Bolan was born in London, England on September 30, 1947. In 1967, he formed the rock duo Tyrannosaurus Rex together with the percussionist Steve Peregrine Took. They released their debut album, "My People Were Fair And Had Sky In Their Hair But Now They're Content to Wear Stars On Their Brows" in 1968. Later, Bolan got some other musicians together and shortened the band name to T. Rex. The band scored big with the hit "Get It On" in 1972. Following a glamorous career, Bolan tragically died in 1977 in an automobile accident.
