The art-house pop band Mansun was formed in Chester, England in the mid 90’s when vocalist Paul Draper teamed up with college buddy bassist Stove King and guitarist Dominic Chad. They began rehearsing under the name Grey Lantern, changing to Mansun for the release of their 1996 debut single “Take It Easy Chicken”. By the end of the year the band had earned the praise of the critics and in 1997, when the “Attack of the Grey Lantern” LP was released, they debuted at number one. The next two albums, “Six” and “Little Kix”, failed to generate a similar success and the group split in 2003.
