The outfit Los Traileros del Norte, one of the most popular norteño acts in history, hails from Monterrey, Mexico and began its career in the seventies. Norteño, which translates to “northern”, is a traditional northern Mexican music style that blends corrido and polka influences into a fun mixture. Norteño music was the founding stone of the tejano style that later emerged in southern Texas and added rock to the recipe. The output of Los Taileros del Norte is today available on numerous full-length offerings, among them “Amargo Cumpleaños” (1996) and “Como Decirte” (2000).
