Liberace

Wladziu Valentino Liberace (known under his last name) was born on May 16th, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI, USA. Being a musical prodigy, he landed a scholarship at the Wisconsin College of Music at seven but Instead of playing classical music he wanted to become a showman. His repertoire in his prime during the 50's consisted of show tunes, Gershwin covers, lounge jazz, and light classical pieces, plus flamboyant shows that found him dressed in gold lame and furs. His star dimmed after the 60's but concerts still sold out. Liberace died in 1987.
