Album Review

Lazy Lester's 2001 album features the swamp blues architect in the sort of fine, sloppy form that made his early sides so essential. With a careening, loose-as-a-goose band in support, Lester drops deep blues harmonica licks and a country-ish, drunken vibe on this collection of covers and classics from his prime years. His take on "Ya Ya" is awesome.
