Growing up in the Jackson family, La Toya was a background singer and dancer with the Jackson 5. Her solo career left less of a mark than those of her siblings, but LaToya generated her fair share of controversy with a tell-all autobiography, endorsement of a "psychic" telephone network, and a glamour spread in Playboy magazine. Her album sales remained lackluster, but the tracks "Heart Don't Lie" and "Bet'cha Gonna Need My Lovin'" did break onto the R'n'B charts. Recently she has guest hosted the talk show "The View", raising some eyebrows with her commentary on current events.
