Larry Graham

Music > Soul / R&B > Funk > Larry Graham
Famous as the bassist in the legendary psychedelic soul/funk outfit Sly & the Family Stone, Larry Graham also led Graham Central Station. But Graham's greatest contribution to musical history might be his innovation of "slap-pop" playing, which made the music of Les Claypool, Bootsy Collins, Flea and P-Nut possible. At the height of his musical career in the mid-70's, he became a Jehovah's Witness and slowed his productivity. He was back in the 80's with hits like "One in a Million, You". A Graham Central Station comeback followed in the 90's, and in 2000 he toured with Prince.
