Lamont Dozier
Born June 16th, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, singer and producer Lamont Dozier was probably best known and most successful as part of the Motown production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland with brothers Eddie and Brian Holland. Writing and arranging the 1963 Supremes’ number one hit single “Where Did Our Love Go”, the trio enjoyed a five-year period with one hit album chasing another. In 1973 Dozier recorded his solo LP “Out Here on My Own” for ABC, with the hit ballad “Trying to Hold on to My Woman”. Holland-Dozier-Holland were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
